Biblical Eating

There are necessities that our Temples (bodies) need in order to glorify God. He dwells in us, therefore, we are to take care of Him.

"Know ye not that ye are the temple of God, and that the Spirit of God dwelleth in you? If any man defile the temple of God, him shall God destroy; for the temple of God is holy, which temple ye are."

I Corinthians 3:16-17

These necessities will not only glorify our Temples for God they will also help us eliminate harmful toxins, lose weight, and become more active in our walk with Jesus.

 

 Eat only the foods that God created for human food  No scavengers like pork, shellfish, fish with skin not scales, birds without a gizzard, etc. These are nature's trash collectors, full of toxins. Eat all the fruits, veggies, whole grains, seeds, and nuts you want.

 Eat whole, unprocessed foods as much as possible.  Drink water(filtered) . Avoid meats that have been pumped full of antibiotics and hormones (which, because of price constraints and the minimal amount of meat your body really needs, means greatly reducing the amount of meat you eat). The food and drink that have been chemically altered, stripped, enriched, colored, preserved, hydrogenated, and fortified lose their nutritional qualities and fill you up with chemicals that have bad or unknown effects on your health.

Don't let any food or drink become your god  Practice fasting to give your body its needed rest and to break any food addictions, like sugar and caffeine.

  1. Eat at regular intervals and avoid eating between meals. “Eat in due season”. Ecclesiastes 10:17

  2. Eat to live and don’t live to eat. “Put a knife to thy throat, if thou be a man given to appetite”. Proverbs 23:2

  3. Rest according to God’s plan. “Six days shalt thou labor, and do all thy work; but the seventh day is the Sabbath of the Lord thy God; in it thou shalt not do any work”. Exodus 20:9,10.

    “Come ye yourselves apart… and rest awhile”. Mark 6:31″It is vain for you to rise up early, to sit up late, to eat the bread of sorrows: for so he giveth his beloved sleep”. Psalms 127:2

  4. Keep your body clean. “Let us cleanse ourselves from all filthiness of the flesh”. 2.Corinthians 7:1 “Be ye clean”. Isaiah 52:11

  5. Control yourself “Every man that striveth for the mastery is temperate in all things”. 1.Corinthians 9:25 “Let your moderation be known unto all men”. Philippians 4:5

  6. Put on a happy face. “A merry heart doeth good like a medicine”. Proverbs 17:22

  7. Do not use animal fat or animal blood in any form. “It shall be a perpetual statue for your generations throughout all your dwellings that ye eat neither fat nor blood”. Leviticus 3:17

  8. Help those who are in need. “Loose the bands of wickedness… undo the heavy burden… deal thy bread to the hungry… bring the poor that are cast out to thy house… When thou seest the naked cover him… Then… thine health shall spring forth speedily”. Isaiah 58:6-8

  9. Trust and obey God. “My son, attend to my words; incline thine ear unto my sayings… For they are life unto those that find them, and health to all their flesh”. Proverbs 4:20,22

  10. Give God the glory in everything that you do. “Whether therefore ye eat, or drink, or whatsoever ye do, do all to the glory of God”. 1.Corinthians 10:31

  • I only drink purified water, atleast 8 8oz glasses daily or herbal teas
  • My diet is 80% raw(fruits and veggies)
  • I fast atleast one day a week
  • I juice
  • I don't use dairy products(almond or rice milk only)
  • I try not to eat grains or refined sugars
